Learn recycling with this simple craft using jarsWe will be doing a recycling craft during this program; if you would like to join in (or do the craft later), here is everything you need.
Supplies: 4 jars (or cups), markers, labels (or paper and tape), glue, paperboard (or cardboard/cardstock), pictures of common items (draw your own or download some: https://happyhooligans.ca/compost-recycling-sorting-activity/)
1. Draw or collect your pictures of common items that might go in the trash, recycling bin, compost or be reused. Draw on heavy paper or glue your drawings to paperboard (and let the glue dry).
2. Label your jars: Reuse, Recycle, Compost, Trash.
3. Cut out your pictures.
4. Place the pictures in the proper jar. Ask first if there is any way to reuse the item. Is there a different packaging to buy next time that could be reused? If it's food, why is it being thrown away? There is great information about what is thrown away and what can be recycled here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnQIDgN9kH0
