NASA @ My Library: Solar Eclipse Viewing In-Person

Registration is currently full. We will be accepting walk-ins the day of to participate in activities, but we will not have additional eclipse glasses to give out.

 

Come join the Carson City Library in viewing the Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21 from 9-11 AM! We will have hands-on activities, a telescope with safety filter, and other informational activities to help you commemorate this amazing event. This program is part of NASA@ My Library, an initiative to engage public audiences nationwide in informal and lifelong learning with the excitement of NASA exploration and discovery.

 

The first 100 registrants will receive a NASA Swag Bag.

 

The first 200 registrants will receive certified safety glasses.

 

Through the NASA @My Library grant the Carson City Library is offering an educational program for the Solar Eclipse. Participants that attend the program can look forward to activities to learn about the Solar Eclipse, telescope viewing of the eclipse with the appropriate safety filter, and more.

 

The Carson City Library applied and was awarded a competitive grant called NASA @My Library. Through this grant, the library has received NASA STEM Facilitation Kits, NASA STEM Backpacks for circulation, financial resources, training, and partnership opportunities to provide programming revolving around STEM and space learning.
